Featured Sales Representative - ADALTA

"We use advanced technologies and methodologies for modeling and control, and also have the know-how to integrate them with the customer's know-how."

Our Italian sales representative, Adalta, supports some of the main scientific software, including software from MathCore and Wolfram Research.

Being able to give customers advanced support is a key issue for Adalta and therefore they have recently signed a partnership with Motus, a research company specialized in dynamic simulation activities, for system-level studies and advanced control design.

Thanks to this partnership, Adalta and Motus can deliver complete solutions (for example, the simulator of a plant or a robotic system) according to the customer's specifications. "When needed, we can work together with the customer's R&D, helping to integrate state-of-the-art, multi-physics simulation technologies into their design processes and products", explains Simona Doglio, the sales and marketing manager at Adalta, and continues, "This means that the customer not only can have their plant or system simulated, but also employ the simulator to take decisions about the management or even the design of that system. In fact we use advanced technologies and methodologies for modeling and control, and also have the know-how to integrate them with the customer's know-how".

Thanks to the multi-physics capabilities of the used technologies, Adalta can deal with problems involving mechanical, thermal, electrical, electronic and even logic aspects simultaneously, simulating and assessing the entire system in a unitary manner, something which is a great advantage with respect to other existing technologies.

To support their customers Adalta and Motus also offers training courses at all levels, including training courses at the customer's site.

Adalta has chosen to base their solutions mainly on the MathModelica software, due of the following reasons:

  • the object oriented paradigm: the level of detail is extremely scalable in a very agile way and the representation perfectly matches the real one;
  • the a-causal modeling: the approach is declarative and not necessarily procedural, implying that the execution flow of the generated simulator is automatically determined case-by-case by the tool, according to the specific boundary conditions;
  • the modularity increasing the readability of the code readability;
  • the multi-physics domain modeling support;
  • the openness of the language specification does not constraint the user (which is the case in many proprietary languages, such as for Simulink);
  • the attention Modelica has received during the last decade, and the confirmation also received in multiple EU projects (with a total funding of 54 M€ between 2007 and 2012);
  • a base Modelica library, namely the Modelica Standard Library is available for modeling;
  • the simulation optimization through the usage of the symbolic manipulator methods available in Mathematica;
  • possibility to obtain the intermediate results during the stages from the model definition to the simulation code
